On June 3, 2008 the residents of Val Verde Unified School District passed Measure J authorizing $43,440,000 in General Obligation Bonds. These funds are to be used for the construction, equipping, furnishing and improvement of certain capital facilities of the District.
The Val Verde Board of Education has established a Citizens’ Oversight Committee to review all expenditures of the bond funds to ensure they are being spent as specified in the ballot measure and to keep the Val Verde Community and Taxpayers informed and assured that their tax dollars are being spent appropriately.
