The purpose of the Open Doors Support Group is to provide parents and caregivers who are raising a child/youth with mental health/emotional/behavioral challenges a safe place to vent, share support, information, solutions and resources. In addition to support, these groups also offer training, workgroups and special topics.

The Parent-to-Parent Telephone Support Line is a non-crisis line open to parents & caregivers in Riverside County who are raising a child/youth with mental health/emotional and/or behavioral challenges. These calls are confidential and returned from a parent employed by the Department who has experience raising a child with emotional challenges.

This California state agency will provide resource & referral information about parenting classes, support groups, etc. Will also provide referrals to licensed childcare homes/centers.

This agency offers two parenting programs: one in which classes are offered to parents whose children have been removed from the home by CPS and who are participating in a reunification process; the other is funded through various sources and is for “regular” parents. P.R.I.C.E. (Positivity, Responsibility, Influence, Consequences, Encouragement) Parenting Classes -

YWCA - Parenting Classes

The YWCA of Riverside County offers Parenting Classes on a continuous basis. Our classes are reasonably priced and taught by caring and respected professionals. Classes focus on Positivity, Responsibility, Influences, Consequences and Encouragement to assist parents in raising happy and healthy children. Our classes offer group discussion which allows parents the opportunity to see situations they might not have encountered yet, but can learn what to do when the situation arises.
  • Each class is a six week session. Cost is $90.
  • Monday nights, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Thursday nights, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Saturday mornings, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Parenting Classes offered in Spanish
These classes run the same as our regular Parent classes, 6 week sessions, Cost is $90. Spanish classes will be offered on:
  • Wednesday Evenings, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Saturday Mornings, 9:30 am to 11:30 am

YWCA Co-Parenting Classes

The YWCA of Riverside County offers Co-Parenting Classes as well. The class is for parents, from two separate households, to learn to work together in parenting their children. Topics include understanding your child and their reaction to divorce, parenting styles, coping with Co-Parenting challenges as well as Co-parenting teamwork. These classes are offered year round.

Each class is a six week session. The cost is $180 (can be paid $30 weekly). This class meets Monday nights, 6:00PM-8:00PM. Please call for more details (951) 687-9922
