This agency currently serves primarily illegal immigrants and foster children.

Will handle periodic physicals and immunizations for some kids (birth - 18 years without Medi-Cal, birth - 20 years with Medi-Cal) or without insurance covering the service. Childhood Asthma Program(951) 358-4977 - Sally Shearer This program is designed to assist families of children with asthma, birth through 5 years old. Parents are taught to identify and control asthma triggers in the home as well as how to use and administer prescribed medications. Sometimes there is assistance with some funding. There is a teen clinic at this site for young men & women through age 19. This agency is approved for Molina, IEHP, Medi-Cal, & Medi-Care. There is a sliding scale for fees.

Call to locate the clinic nearest you.] (951) 358-6631 There are a number of clinics throughout Riverside County . Spanish and English are spoken. Teens may be served at any one of them by phoning for an appointment. There are some specially designed Teen Clinics, however, where young people can just walk in without an appointment at selected times on selected days. Know that occasionally the clinic may be closed even if it's on a day that it's usually scheduled to be open. Also know that sometimes a clinic will only see a certain number of people each day ( Hemet , for example, says that accept about the 1 st 12 people to arrive) so if it's REALLY important to you to get it on a certain day please arrive early. There is a program for middle schoolers through the Health Education Department and one usually presented to high school health classes (with option of separate presentations for young women & young men) that includes teaching students how to perform self examinations for testicular or breast cancer as well as presenting information on sexually transmitted diseases. Information is presented from an accurate medical standpoint. In addition to these presentations, outreach staff will present to parent groups on related topics (Spanish/English).

Healthy Families1 (800) 880-5305 or residents of the Val Verde Unified School District may pick up applications at any of the schools in the district. Assistance in completing the applications is also available. This program provides a means whereby low cost health, dental, and vision insurance may be obtained for children. Eligibility is based on income and family size. Charges range from $4 to $27 per month for coverage. Telephone assistance is available in various languages.

Kaiser Wellness Resource Center(951) 353-4475 For Kaiser Permanente subscribers, this center has a number of programs available. Videos, books, and cd's are sold. Pamphlets, videos, and books related to various health conditions are offered, some without charge. Hours are M-F 8:45 am - 4:45 pm (closed for lunch from 12:30-1:30 pm).

Riverside County Health Services Agency (Health Information)(951) 358-5000 This is a great resource for obtaining information about various programs available in the county. This agency can often direct people to sources of assistance. Birth/Death certificates as well as answers to health-related questions can also be requested through this agency. Cases of food poisoning can be reported through this agency. The following programs, as well as others, were available as of 9/2006.
Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) services provide a wide range of health care services through such programs as Adolescent Family Life, Black Infant Health, California Children Services, Child Health and Disability Prevention, Child Health and Disability Prevention Treatment, Comprehensive Perinatal Services, Dental Disease Prevention and Treatment, Family Planning, Fetal Infant Death Review Project, Prenatal Care Guidance, and Toll-Free Health Referral. Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) is structured to develop a comprehensive case management program for pregnant and parenting adolescents, their parents, and their families through coordinated community services. Counseling is designed to assist in reducing the number of low birth weight babies, keep pregnant and parenting adolescents in school, reduce repeat pregnancies, and insure healthy parents and babies. Black Infant Health Program (BIH) - The basic goal of this program is to maximize positive pregnancy outcomes for African American women and to improve infant survival and assure optimal growth and development for high risk African American Infants. The primary objective is to identify black women who are pregnant or at risk of becoming pregnant into early and continuous prenatal care. (951) 358-5192.
