This is a program designed to assist grandparents & other kin raising children in their care. Information, mentoring, tutoring, counseling, and other services are available free of charge. There is a support group that meets once a month on the fourth Tuesday at 10 am. The purpose of this program is to help caregivers establish healthy, happy families.

This is through the Office on Aging. Supportive services such as a childcare program for little ones aged birth though 5, advocacy, and case management are provided to grandparents and other relative caregivers.

Grandparent & Relative Caregivers' Warm Line

This is a help line provided by the Department of Social Services. A grandparent, or other care-providing relative, phones this # and describes the difficulty. The care provider's name and number are taken and the agency finds where the issue may best be addressed and someone appropriate contacts the care provider. This agency will also provide community resource information.

Open Doors: Parent / Caregiver Support Group

This support group is for parents & caregivers of children who are experiencing difficulty with mental health / emotional / behavioral problems. The group meets on the 4 th Friday of every month from 6 to 8 pm at the YMCA ( 4020 Jefferson St. ) in Riverside , CA . Daycare provided for $2 per hour per child. There is a group in Corona , California at 1331 River Road . This group will meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 6-8 pm. Childcare will be available for $5 per child for the two hours beginning in the fall of 2005.
