You may hear music & no message for some time; just hang on, someone will answer eventually. This is the agency that deals with abuse of the elderly (those over age 65) or of dependant adults (18 to 64 year-olds who have permanent physical or mental handicaps) who may need protection. In-Home Supportive Services1 (888) 960-4477 [M-F 8-5] In-home support services such as assistance with shopping and nonmedical personal care (i.e. housekeeping, bathing, dressing) are available to eligible adults and children over the age of four who receive SSI. This is to assist blind, aged, and disabled people so that they can safely remain in their own homes. Se habla español.
Ombudsman Crisis Line1 (800) 231-4024 [staffed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week] This is a crisis line to report abuse or provide some services to those who are in long-term residential care or in nursing homes in the state of California .
