PART I: On January 13, 2003 general earthwork construction activities commenced, which include demolition of the existing citrus orchard, exporting 65,000 cubic yards of earth, grading, installation of portions of the storm water system, and construction of over one mile of retaining wall systems.
To date, the contractor has exported 65,000 cubic yards of earth and removed 35,000 cubic yards of exposed and blasted rock (granite). Installation of the retaining wall is continuing and is 99 percent complete. Off -site street improvements are underway at, and across Wood and Markham Streets, with issues currently awaiting County review and approval.
PART II: Currently over twenty buildings inclusive of two baseball, softball, and soccer fields, ten tennis courts, and a modern football stadium, which will seat up to 4000 people, are scheduled to complete over the next year.
Construction started August 4, 2003 with the Gymnasium. Subsequently, the Administration Building, Library, two Science Buildings, Vocational Arts Building, Cafeteria, Weight Room, Stadium Snack Bar, Music Building, Electrical Building, three Classroom Buildings, Amphitheatre, Football Stadium and six Modular Buildings.
Work progressed throughout the month of October with flatwork throughout the campus, base and compaction is complete and moving forward with asphaltic concrete in the student parking lot, and fence installation in the baseball and soccer fields is underway. The Football Stadium is taking shape, the bleacher press box, home, and visitor seating is in place, while the underground electrical behind the press box is in progress.
Installation of casework, wall covering, roofing, floor covering, T-grid, ceiling tile installation, and exterior windows at the Administration Building is complete. The Science Buildings, Industrial Arts Building, and Cafeteria are the farthest along, with casework, wall covering, T-grid, and finish plumbing being installed. The Library is painted, and has casework, finish electrical and some finish plumbing being installed. The geo-flex roofs are completed on all buildings with the Gym currently in progress. The Gymnasium is the largest building on the campus, M.E.P. rough-in is 75% complete & metal stud framing is 90% complete. HVAC grills have been installed in all finished ceilings, ceramic tile and solid plastic partitions have been installed in most restrooms. The Multi-purpose building, is in the framing stage of construction with 70% of the walls standing in place.
The cafeteria has the walk-in fridge, freezer, T-grid, and FRP paneling installed. The Administration building has had feeders pulled to the main gear and is being terminated. |
