The last change order has been processed for this project. Letters recommending VVUSD to file Notices of Completion have been issued for eleven of the project's sixteen prime contractors. The landscaping/irrigation contractor formally entered into the maintenance period on 9/16. This period will last a minimum of 90 days. The project completion date was extended to 10/22 due to unforseen conditions that were exposed during the course of the project. The most notable conditions were discovered at Bldg I3 and Bldg I2 where rafters, floor sheathing, wall sheathing, and studs had to be replaced on time and materials basis to modernize the building. The District also decided to give ASR (the prime contractor) a change order to tie in the project's AC units into the energy management system. Over the course of September, large strides of progress were achieved on this project. Plastering, roofing, light pole installation, Shade Structure installation, vinyl wallcoverings, markerboards, acoustical ceiling tile installation, and the majority of electrical and low-voltage finishes were all completed during autumn's first month. Additionally, all of the project's flatwork was placed in a two-week time period during the month. A handful of items remain to be completed during October, including fencing, testing of the fire alarm system, installation of canopy lights, energy management system scope for exterior building lights, and the punchlist. |
