Val Verde High School

These five new portable buildings were occupied for the first day of school on August 23, 2004. DSA approved plans were also received this week from DC Architects for this project. Now that this project has been completed, the original Val Verde High School prime contractors can close-out their contracts with the District. As of August 26, 2004, PCM3 has recommended the filing of the Notice of Completion for five prime contracts.

Casework installation was completed inside the portables this month. The lath and plaster operation has been ongoing this month. Color coat application began August 26, 2004 and will probably conclude by September 2, 2004. Roofing installation began August 23, 2004 and will conclude around month's end. Curb and gutter was completed at the parking lot; light pole bases were also placed this week. Look for the parking lot to be paved on August 27, 2004. Installation of vinyl wallcoverings on the interior of the eight portables will commence August 30, 2004. Shade Structure installation will commence on 9/1. Look for floorcoverings, light standards, and hardscape to complete in September. The projected completion date for this project remains October 1, 2004.
