Citrus Hill High School

On January 13, 2003 general earthwork construction activities commenced, which include demolition of the existing citrus orchard, exporting 65,000 cubic yards of earth, grading, installation of portions of the storm water system, and construction of over one mile of retaining wall systems.

To date, the contractor has exported 65,000 cubic yards of earth and removed 35,000 cubic yards of exposed and blasted rock (granite). Installation of the retaining wall is continuing and is 98 percent complete. Underground fire and domestic water lines are also nearing completion. Off -site street improvements are underway at, and across Wood and Markham Streets, with a few scattered issues currently awaiting County review and approval.

PART II:

Currently over twenty buildings inclusive of two baseball, softball, and soccer fields, ten tennis courts, and a modern football stadium, which will seat up to 4,000 people, are scheduled to complete over the next year.

Construction started August 4, 2003 with the Administration Building. Subsequently, Library, Vocational Arts Building, Amphitheatre, Football Stadium and six Modular Buildings are set and progressing with exterior lath and preparation for roofing.

Work progressed briskly throughout the month of July; there has been marked progress with the Music Building, Gymnasium, Locker Room Facility, and Underground Utilities. All buildings are completely framed. Several planters are complete in the Quad area, and Tennis Court slabs and fence posts are complete. The Main Pavilion outside the Administration Building is 90% complete.

The Administration Building is nearing completion with ceiling grids in place and restroom tile underway. The Science Buildings, Industrial Arts Building and Cafeteria are the farthest along as interior rough-ins are complete, exterior plaster is complete and drywall is nearing completion. The Library rough in is nearly complete. Hollow metal doors and window frames are installed in most buildings.

The Grandstands in the Stadium are under construction and progressing nicely with bleacher foundations almost complete. The Tennis Courts have taken shape with pouring of concrete slabs and erection of fence posts.

All trades show great cooperation in coordinating the complex systems that will comprise this modern and comprehensive High School Campus. The critical path of the project continues to advance on schedule, as the professional Management Team, Architect and Contractors keep a vigilant eye on safety, practical design, and construction.
