Citrus Hill High School

PART I:

On January 13, 2003 general earthwork construction activities commenced, which include demolition of the existing citrus orchard, exporting 65,000 cubic yards of earth, grading, installation of portions of the storm water system, and construction of over one mile of retaining wall systems.

To date, the contractor has exported 65,000 cubic yards of earth and removed 35,000 cubic yards of exposed and blasted rock (granite). The earthwork is progressing and is 90 percent complete. Installation of the retaining wall is continuing and is 95 percent complete. The installation of the 60” and 36”storm water drain system is in progress and the sub-terrain drain and AG water re-route portion of construction is complete. Underground fire and domestic water lines are in progress.

PART II:

Work progressed adequately throughout the month of June, construction of the six Modular Buildings has progressed with all sections now set in place. There has been marked progress with the Music Building, Gymnasium, Locker Room Facility, and continued progress with Underground Utilities. The following Buildings are completely framed; Administration Building, Locker / Team Room Building, Stadium Snack Bar, two Science Buildings, Cafeteria, Industrial Arts Building, Weight Room, Library, three Classroom Buildings and the Music Building. The Main Pavilion outside the Administration Building is 90% complete.

The Administration Building is completely dry-walled, textured and painted. Doors are hung and glazing and suspended ceilings have commenced. The exterior of the Administration building has stucco complete and metal roof sections in progress. Geo-flex roofs are completed on the Administration Building, two Science Buildings, Industrial Arts, Locker room/Team Building, Weight Room, Stadium Snack Bar, Electrical Building, three Classroom Buildings, Music Building and Cafeteria Building. The Gymnasium, the largest building on campus continues with structural steel beams at high and low roof systems.

Also nearing completion, are the Retaining Walls. The Radius wall, which will bear the School name and logo is now complete across the east end of the football field, and foundation is complete at the flagpole area. The extensive slope grading is completed at the East slope, along the property line, and at the South property line. The Tennis Courts have taken shape with final grading and erection of fence posts.

Temperatures rise as summer draws closer and morale remains high on site, as all trades show great cooperation in coordinating the complex systems that will comprise this modern and comprehensive High School Campus.
