PART I: On January 13, 2003 general earthwork construction activities commenced, which include demolition of the existing citrus orchard, exporting 65,000 cubic yards of earth, grading, installation of portions of the storm water system, and construction of over one mile of retaining wall systems.
To date, the earthwork is progressing and is 90 percent complete. Installation of the retaining wall is continuing and is 95 percent complete. Underground fire and domestic water lines are in progress. Off site street improvements are underway at, and across Wood and Markham Streets.
PART II: Currently over twenty buildings inclusive of two baseball, softball, and soccer fields, ten tennis courts, and a modern football stadium, which will seat up to 4000 people, are scheduled to complete over the next year.
Construction started August 4, 2003 with the Gymnasium. Subsequently, the Administration Building, Library, two Science Buildings, Vocational Arts Building, Cafeteria, Weight Room, Stadium Snack Bar, Music Building, Electrical Building, three Classroom Buildings, Amphitheatre, Football Stadium and six Modular Buildings have construction initiated and are in various stages of completion.
Work progressed adequately throughout the month of May, construction commenced at the six Modular Building locations. There has been marked progress with the Music Building, Gymnasium, Locker Room Facility. The following Buildings are completely framed; Administration Building, Locker / Team Room Building, Stadium Snack Bar, two Science Buildings, Cafeteria, Industrial Arts Building, Weight Room, Library, three Classroom Buildings and the Music Building.
The Administration Building is now completely dry-walled and textured. The Science Buildings, Industrial Arts Building and Cafeteria are the farthest along as interior rough-in is complete and drywall is in process the of being hung and taped. Geo-flex roofs are completed on the Administration Building, two Science Buildings, Industrial Arts, Locker room/Team Building, Weight Room, Stadium Snack Bar, Electrical Building, three Classroom Buildings and Cafeteria Building.
Also nearing completion, are the Retaining Walls, including those that will bound the Stadium and Bleacher areas. The Radius wall, which will bear the School name and logo is now complete across the east end of the football field.
Temperatures rise as summer draws closer and morale remains high on site, as all trades show great cooperation in coordinating the complex systems that will comprise this modern and comprehensive High School Campus.
