Val Verde High School

Five portable classrooms were transported from existing Val Verde High School to the new campus during early April. Carpet demo, ceiling tile demo, wall finish demo, electrical demo, and fire alarm system demo were all completed this month. Rough underground electrical was also completed this month. Presently, the installation of vinyl inside the portables is ongoing. At the exterior, new sheet metal gutters, seismic expansion separation joints, and foundation flashing are being installed. Lath and plaster will commence as soon as the sheet metal operation completes.

Eight more portable units (six classrooms, one restroom building, and one admin building) will also be transported from existing VVHS to the new campus in the coming future. Bid documents will be available May 10 for this project. Bids will be opened May 27. Construction for this project is scheduled to commence during the earlier part of June with construction completing prior to the start of the new school year in August.

The original portion of the new campus is presently in punchlist phase. The building and site punchlists are each over 95% complete. The landscaping and irrigation punchlist will be issued on April 30th.
