Val Verde High School

Pricing was received for the five new portables that will be located at the east end of the quad area. These five portables will be transplanted from the existing Val Verde High School site. This scope will commence during the first week of March.

Inside the existing buildings on campus, primarily pickup items were in progress by various prime contractors. Notably, gym striping was completed in early February; the majority of the doors on campus have been keyed by the District locksmith. Also, all HVAC units were fired up, tied into the energy management system, and balanced during February. A new split system unit was also added to the plans in February, which will service the campus' main computer room. The air handler has been installed for this unit. Look for the condenser and the remaining scope for this new unit to complete in March.

On site, the retaining wall dividing the high school from the new Regional Learning Center for Riverside County Office of Education was constructed. Hydro seed was placed at the west half of the site. Irrigation scope was in progress at the ball field and will continue into March. Base-bid flatwork was completed during February, as the concrete ramp to the ball field and concrete for the dugouts was placed mid-month. The backstop was also erected at this location. Only ribbon gutter scope and additive scope of work remains outstanding for concrete placement. In March, look for offsite and onsite striping, a new flagpole, and other miscellaneous site items.
